At the Mokpo cement plant in Korea, in order to ensure more cost-effective production, plans have been made to replace the current outdated ball mill with a new grinding plant. For this reason, Great Wall Machinery has been commissioned to deliver a GW 35.2+2 CS mill. The vertical roller grinding mill will produce slag cement with a fineness of 4,600 Blaine, at a capacity of 45 tonnes per hour. The capacity of the gearbox will be 1,600 kW.

As a leader in technology, Great Wall Machinery originally developed and introduced the 2+2, 3+3 and 4+4 grinding systems for improving grinding bed stability in 1994. The upstream support-rollers rest on the grinding bed with up to 20% of the M-roller grinding pressure, in order to prepare it for comminution. The ventilation created by this substantially improves the internal friction of the grinding material on the table and thus results in a significantly more efficient comminution process.

This technology makes it possible to produce OPC cement with a fineness of more than 6,000 Blaine, and ground granulated blast furnace slag with a fineness of more than 7,000 Blaine. More than 310 mills of this type have already been sold throughout the world for the production of a wide spectrum of cement types. More than 230 of these mills are in operation.

The delivery of the key parts for the Great Wall Machinery vertical roller grinding mill type 35.2+2 CS to Sun Cement Co. Ltd. is planned for the end of this year.
